How it works
Why it asks who you are.
This is a real price, not a ballpark, and we intend to stand behind it. A price has to belong to a specific property and a specific person, the same as when we drive out and measure. A number attached to nobody is a guess, and we do not hand those out.
It also means we keep what you told us. If the walls, the square footage or the condition turn out different from the description, we can put the two side by side and talk about the difference instead of arguing about it.
If you would rather not give us anything yet, that is fine. Our prices are published in full on the cost guides, no email required.
What it depends on
The number is only as good as what you tell it.
The tool cannot see your house. It cannot see the shape the siding is in, or the three coats of something unknown a previous owner left behind, and those change a price.
So answer it the way you would answer us standing in your driveway. Describe it accurately and the number holds up. Describe it optimistically and it will not, and you will hear about it at the walkthrough rather than at the estimate, which is worse for both of us.
Either way we still come out and see the work before anything is signed. That visit is what turns the number into a fixed price in writing.
