Who You Are Hiring

Read our Google reviews and you’ll notice people using Michael’s first name. That’s because this is a family business, and the name on the door belongs to the person who answers for the work that goes out under it.

Nice painters. Nice paint job.

A Second-Generation Trade

Michael, in his own words

I started working with my dad when I was nine. At first, that meant summers spent masking windows, helping on spray days and picking up whatever everyone else left behind. I don’t remember the first time he handed me a brush, but I remember what he repeated: the small details are what make the whole job look right.

I didn’t grow up planning to own a painting company. I went to college for a while, managed a busy retail store, then came back to painting while I decided what I was actually going to do. Somewhere along the way, I realized I already knew. I liked the work. I understood the trade. And I thought I could build a better company around it. I got my contractor’s license in 2013 and put my name on the door.

Amador County has been home since I started kindergarten at Pine Grove Elementary. My wife and I eventually settled in Ione, where we’re raising our family. We like that it still feels like a small town without being quite so far upcountry.

Most of the homes we paint were here before our company, and many of them will be here long after it. Our part is fairly simple: take care of them, do the work correctly and leave people feeling better about the home they live in.

Awards do not paint houses. People do.

American Painting Contractor Magazine gave our work national Top Job awards two years running, in 2020 and 2021. Closer to home, Ledger Dispatch readers have voted us the best painting company in Amador County four separate times. Winning that kind of recognition year after year tells you what the people behind the work are held to.

Who walks in the door

The People In Your Home

Every painter who walks into your home is on our own payroll. We don’t bring in subcontractors or round up day labor for the week, so the faces don’t change on you halfway through the job. An experienced crew leader runs the site, and the crew checks in with our office every day. You get that same update.

The word customers keep using for the crew is a simple one: nice. That’s who we hire, and it’s what we train for.
