Floors and furniture are covered before we open a can. We cut the wall and ceiling lines in by hand and mask the trim with FrogTape, the kind that doesn’t bleed, so every edge comes out sharp. Then we leave the room cleaner than a paint crew has any right to.

Read our pricing guidesHanding a big deposit to someone you just met should feel uncomfortable, so we don’t ask for one. We’re a family business. Projects here start with 10% or $1,000, whichever is less, which is the most California allows anyone to ask for. You pay the rest as the work gets done.

How that works on siteThe part you never see
Good paint matters, which is why we put premium interior coatings on every project. What it goes over matters more, and that gets settled before the first coat.
Most of how an interior holds up is settled before the first coat, back during the patching and sanding and caulking and priming. All of it ends up hidden under the finished paint, which is exactly why it’s easy to skip and tempting to hurry. On your walls we give it the time it takes.
The lines where a wall meets the ceiling or turns a corner get cut in by hand. Along the trim we mask with FrogTape, the kind that doesn’t bleed, so those edges come out laser sharp. Right tool for each spot, and up close in your own light, that’s exactly where it shows.
Your project is assigned to a Michael Hines Painting crew, not a rotating collection of whoever is available that morning. Every painter on your project is our employee, and an experienced crew leader stays with the job from beginning to end.
