Will the finish really hold up out there? Is the price fair? How much do I hand a stranger up front, and what happens if I spot something I don’t like halfway through? Here’s where we answer all of that, in writing.
Once a finish starts to fail, sun and heat and winter wet get in behind it and go to work on the wood. How long the next coat lasts is mostly set by the prep underneath it: the washing, scraping, sanding, priming, caulking, and wood repair we do before any color goes on.

How that works on siteThe part you never see
Paint quality matters, and we put premium exterior coatings on every project. Good paint can still only do so much, though, when the siding under it has been taking sun and weather for years.
Most of how an exterior job ages gets settled before the first coat, back during the washing and scraping and sanding and priming and caulking and the wood repair nobody notices once the color’s on. All of it ends up hidden under the finish, which is exactly why it’s easy to skip and tempting to hurry. We don’t hurry it.
On most homes we spray the coat on and then back-roll or back-brush it by hand, working the paint down into the siding so it grips the wood underneath. That grip is a big part of why it holds up.
Your project is assigned to a Michael Hines Painting crew, not a rotating collection of whoever is available that morning. Every painter on your project is our employee, and an experienced crew leader stays with the job from beginning to end.

On our jobs you never have to rehearse it. Your crew leader is right there to be asked, and the small stuff is exactly what you want to raise early, while it’s still small. Our office gets an update from your crew every day, and so do you.
Anybody can type the word care onto a website. On your property it means your plants and walkways and windows covered before the spraying starts, the site left orderly at the end of each day, and cleanup good enough that customers bring it up in their reviews before we ever ask.
By the time we get to the final walkthrough, you’ve had the whole job to speak up. We walk it together at the end as one last check that nothing slipped past either of us before we call it done.
